And the Journey Begins. Game 1.

I would like to start off by stating that this is not nessecerily going to be a daily thing. Some of these games i imagine are going to take some time to play and analyze. This is my view on the games and not anyone else. I was not paid to play nor was i paid to write about these games. (although that would be hella cool).

This is my Journey to play 1001 video games you must play before you die. These are my stories.(insert law and order sound effect here).

And so we begin.

I decided to start with the easiest games to find. interactive fiction computer game.  In case you havent played one of these games and im sure you have, just havent realized it im going to show you a screen shot of these amazing graphics. Prepare to have your mind blown.

Boom! Mind Blown!

That is all there is too it.

Honestly, that is all there needs to be to the the game. It gives you the means to play a video game and requires you to use your imagination. While there is only one story arc and purpose of the game, It gives you the D&D feel without needing a few other people and a DM to play.

Published in 1980 by Infocom, written by Marc Blank, Dave Lebling, Bruce Daniels and Tim Anderson. There have been many different releases and sequels stemmed from this game and sold 400,000 copies when released.

The goal of the game, is to find the 20 treasures of Zork and fill the trophy case. Hidden throughout the Great Underground Empire.  Do this in its entirety and you are awared 350 points and the title of Master Adventurer. There is a bug in the software that enables this to be done in 223 moves, with a game completion in 228.

Now being a one person game with a limited story made the game a once in a while revisit type play. Much like most games. However due to its huge popularity it spun off into a Multi-User Dungeon culture. Extensive worlds with many quests. You can visit some of these at hundreds of games with different themes and environments to explore. if you dig deep enough im sure you will find one that you will enjoy.

Chachi Says: This is the beginning of a very glorious adventure. i hope you enjoy it as much as i do.
